ABOUT MEASURE UP
Vote YES on Measure UP — Protect Affordable Higher Education and Job Training Without Increasing Tax Rates
For more than 100 years, Pasadena City College has helped local students move UP — earning degrees, transferring to four-year universities, learning job skills, and building successful careers.
The cost of universities keeps going UP. Every year Pasadena City College provides nearly 30,000 local students an affordable path to higher education, career training, and economic opportunity. PCC trains the nurses, firefighters, and skilled workers that keep us healthy, safe, and fuel our economy.
Meanwhile, many Pasadena City College classrooms, labs, job training facilities, and essential infrastructure are 60 to 90 years old. Delaying repairs will only cost more the longer we wait.
What Measure UP does:

REPAIR
aging roofs, plumbing, electrical systems and classrooms

UPDATE
science labs and classrooms that help students transfer to four-year universities

EXPAND
career training for nurses, healthcare professionals, firefighters, paramedics, construction workers, welders, plumbers, and other skilled trades

IMPROVE
earthquake safety, campus security, and accessibility for people with disabilities
MEASURE UP MEASURES UP
Take a closer look at taxpayer protections:

Does NOT increase tax rates. It continues the current tax rate.

Keeps every dollar local. No funds can be taken by the state or federal government.

Requires an independent oversight committee, annual financial audits, public disclosure, and a legally binding project list so taxpayers know how every dollar is spent.
Measure UP is about rising student opportunities — not rising tax rates
It helps students move UP to college, UP to better careers, and UP to brighter futures.
Measure UP reflects responsible planning: fixing aging facilities before costs rise, training the skilled workforce we need, and preserving affordable higher education without increasing current tax rates.
